![]() It was Christmas dinner so it isn’t their norm. We had one formal dinner in the same room we had breakfast and lunch. Luckily, we were informed, and were able to score one of these treats!!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Upon an Instagram search of people who stayed at the hotel, we found a chocolate taco, available on their secret menu. I created a mandatory rule to come in from skiing everyday at lunch time to ensure we didn’t miss the buffet! At first Evan thought I was crazy, but upon leaving the buffet, he agreed it was a brilliant decision. The hotel appeared to be perfect, Jet Blue flies direct to Salt Lake City, and Evan told me he can ski (spoiler alert: he can’t). I barely had to do any convincing to get Evan signed up for this trip. I googled, saw they have the largest spa in all of Utah, and knew we were set. Now, I just had to find a hotel that would provide the comfort we wanted. I did a quick google search and realized this is where it is AT. Finally, someone suggested Park City, Utah. I searched high and low for a perfect spot and came up empty for weeks. While it sounded like a solid choice, I truly didn’t want to do a repeat vacation- I was yearning for that special place where we could both enjoy the wellness perks, yet also dine and throw back a few glasses of pinot grigio. We have stayed there before – love their food, Cali weather, great spa, central location, and great staff. When discussing vacation spots, The Montage Beverly Hills came up. We hadn’t been away in a while, so I kicked safety and comfort to the curb, and decided to try something adventurous. ![]() It may not be the best service, or hotel, or food. I really wanted to go somewhere new – somewhere neither Evan and I had been before, but trying somewhere new has its risks. ![]() ![]() daily. While a beach and blue water sounded like a really good escape from NYC, the influx of Zika ultimately led us to stay in the United States. But our favorite for the little ones (and selfishly, ourselves) is the complimentary s’mores on the Vista Terrace from 4 to 5 p.m. The family-friendly ski resort offers a host of amenities to keep kids and teens busy, like the Paintbox club. Thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, both pools offer panoramic views of the surrounding mountains for a scenic and relaxing experience. The luxury Park City hotel has both an indoor and an outdoor pool. ![]() Should you need some pampering after a day on the slopes, ski right in to Spa Montage Deer Valley, which offers custom treatments to suit your individual needs using botanical and herbal ingredients for a holistic experience. The luxurious resort’s Five-Star restaurant, Apex, serves delicious meals three times a day, but dinner is the real winner - order Utah trout with green beans and potatoes, fried capers and a rich lemon-brown-butter sauce, or braised short ribs with horseradish whipped potatoes for a farm-to-table taste sensation. ![]()
